Job Description:
The Gathering is looking for a Website Developer who can play an important role in marketing and promoting the Ministries as they continue to grow and develop new programs.

This position will be located in the Sevierville, Tennessee area and will work with The Gathering and its affiliated Ministries.

Position Summary:
Competitive candidates will be creative and energetic and demonstrate a passion for pioneering unusual ideas, utilizing new marketing strategies and enthusiastically providing expertise in web design and development, graphic design and social media networking. The successful candidate will handle multiple tasks and deadlines and pay close attention to detail while maintaining quality service and the integrity of the Ministries. In order to perform the essential functions of the this position, the individual must possess the ability to effectively communicate, concentrate, analyze data, pay attention to detail, retain learned knowledge, instruct/teach, and demonstrate strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Designs, develops and maintains pages on the Ministries’ multiple websites and is part of a team responsible for content oversight.
Coordinates the accessibility and security of the Ministries’ websites.
Develops flash from conceptual discussions or graphic depictions.
Trouble-shoots and resolves any web-based problems as they arise.
Responsible for Ministry marketing and social networking through Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube, etc., maintaining daily and/or weekly communication on these sites, aggressively remaining current in the latest internet social media advancement.
Stays informed of current events of the various Ministries in order to effectively perform the duties required of this position, understanding the goals and objectives for the websites.
Ensures a consistent look and feel across the websites; creates appropriate templates to assist content authors.
Selects and directs purchase of stock photos, as needed, for websites.
Creates and maintains an archive for website templates and images.
Maintains well-organized photo, video, artwork files for the websites.

Minimum Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with web-database integration and a range of database platforms, including MS SQL and Oracle.
Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL, SML, AJAX, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc.
Thorough understanding of HTTP, and XML Web services.
Sensitivity to browser compatibility issues and website optimization: cacheing, load balancing, page load times and Apache configurations.
Comprehensive experience with all aspects of website content management, including CMS packages such as Drupal, Sharepoint, WordPress and others.
Excellent knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws and internet security.
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and others.)
Utilizes basic project management principles with strong organizational skills.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.
Experience in digital photography and videography.

Education and Experience:
Associates Degree or minimum of 2 years college in Computer Information Systems, Web Design, or related field, or
Two (2) to three (3) years of equivalent work experience in website development and maintenance.
Preferably, a minimum of two (2) years graphic design experience with design software skills including: Quark Xpress, Adobe Creative Suite’s InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.
