Job Description:

Supporting Outreach at an executive level by ensuring
we are doing ministry “with” the communities we serve,
the Director of Recovery Ministry:
• Plans, develops, launches, and directs new Celebrate
Recovery Ministry, implementing new share/step
groups as needed and managing day to day operations
of the program.
• Directly manages all community 12-step recovery programs
on Mariners campus, ensuring optimum use of
facilities and resources while maintaining cooperation
with Mariners Church mission, values, and vision.
• Recruits, trains, supports, and oversees all Recovery
Ministry volunteers, insuring their dedication and
acceptance of the church’s Leadership Commitment.
• Directs Recovery Ministry volunteer leaders, helping
them manage their programs, projects, and people.
Utilizes volunteer leader team for planning.
• Communicates the vision, values, and mission of the
church to throughout the various Recovery Ministry
programs.
• Supports the Pastor of Care & Recovery in his efforts to
raise awareness of the overall ministry church wide
and within the surrounding community.
• Collaborates with the Director of Care Ministry to
ensure effective and efficient management throughout
all Mariners Care & Recovery Ministries.
• Collaborates with Care & Recovery ministry at large
with various opportunities and responsibilities as they
arise.
Qualifications:
Strong leadership experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication
skills
• Excellent public speaking capability with
large audiences
• Personal experience within 12-step
recovery program (at least 5 years of
sobriety)
• Demonstrates strong and growing walk with
Christ
• Strong inter-personal & conflict resolution
skills
• Proven management skills and the ability to
develop strategic plans
• Excellent organizational skills and efficient
work capacity
• Ability to be creative and innovative
• Proven experience handling details and
complex schedules
• Experience establishing and motivating
volunteer teams
• Excellent interpersonal skills working with
staff and volunteers
• Strong desire to complete tasks within
deadlines
• Competent in Microsoft Office
