Job Description:

This position has the overall responsibility to develop, implement, oversee, and evaluate a comprehensive teaching, discipleship, leadership ministry designed to provide opportunities for adult believers at Grace Church to grow toward Christ-like maturity.

Responsibilities:
Ministry - Overall leadership, planning, development, promotion, and ongoing evaluation and improvement of the components listed and added in the future for the purpose of ministering to adult believers.

Grace Group Ministry (home based / church based groups)
Grace 201 Class (which teaches commitment to spiritual disciplines)
Teaching Pastor
Discipleship
Leadership
Wednesday Evening Adult Classes
Senior Adult Ministries
Singles' Ministries
Women's Ministry
Staff Elder

Administration – Overall stewardship, accountability for, organization of, and participation with the resources of people, time, finances, facilities, and equipment entrusted to Adult Ministries by Grace Church.

Components: (listed in priority order)
Adult Ministries Budget
Staff Meetings (meetings with all ministry and/or administrative staff)
Adult Ministries Leadership Team (A team of lay-ministry leaders)
Room Usage / Calendar Management

Responsibilities:
Professional Development (Renew and develop personal knowledge, ideas, professional relationships, and further educational pursuits in order to remain current and fresh in adult and educational ministry pursuits.

Components: (listed in priority order)
Professional Training & Development (includes conferences, seminars, etc.)
Education (Pursuits of certifications and degrees for the benefit of adult ministries)
Networking (Building relationships with other professionals within like-minded churches and ministries)
Mentoring Opportunities (Support and assistance offered to other local churches and ministries)

Misc. Pastoral Duties:
Provide general pastoral duties as needed or assigned by the Senior Pastor, or Administrative Pastor.

General Qualifications/Giftedness:
This person should have a demonstrated passion for teaching, discipleship, leadership and learning. He should be a mature and growing Christian with a passion to see others grow in their knowledge and love of Christ. An earned bachelor’s or master’s level degree in a complimentary field of study is preferred. He should also have proven experience with adult ministries; experience with managing a staff is a plus. He must have the demonstrated ability to duplicate himself through leader and teacher training. Effectiveness as a leader of volunteers and/or ministry staff is highly desired. He must meet the Biblical qualifications for an elder.

Reporting Relationship(s):
He will report to the Senior Pastor and Administrative Pastor. This person may be asked to lead or manage a staff of both paid staff and unpaid volunteer leaders. This person will work closely with the Adult Ministries Leadership Team.
