Job Description:
Gardendale- Mt. Vernon United Methodist is currently searching for a Director of Student and Young Adult ministries. Gardendale-Mt. Vernon, located just north of Birmingham, Alabama, is a growing church with 750 in three different styles of Sunday morning worship services. The majority of youth come from three public High Schools and one Private. The church has a growing Young Adult ministry and one of the best weekday children’s ministries in the area. We are looking for someone who will implement our churches vision with youth and young adults – “Growing more fully committed disciples of Jesus Christ.” A love for Jesus Christ and a sense of calling to full-time ministry is vital. Preference will be given to persons who have experience in leading a growing student ministry and have a Baccalaureate Degree. Candidate must possess understanding and passion for worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. Candidate should also possess a capacity for visionary team building and equipping for the sake of effective ministry.
