Job Description:

Responsibilites are to plan and direct the music ministry of Daniels Chapel Church with the potential to participate in other areas of ministry if desired. Work in conjunction with the Senior Pastor to select music for Sunday worship services and other special services. Recruit, motivate, organize, and supervise music team leaders and musicians from all age groups (adolescent, teen, and adult). Plan, schedule, and rehearse with the different vocal and instrumental groups of the church. Develop musical teams and ensembles from all age groups to participate in worship services. Direct outreach events into the community via performances at other organizations as appropriate. Be committed to the church's vision, leadership, and people. Participate in the life and ministry of the total church. Qualifications are a mature, exemplary, personal relationship with Christ as Savior and Lord. Bachelor's Degree in Music, Sacred or Church Music, or Music Performance (desired) and/or demonstrated musical skills and competence. Experience in a church-related setting. Organizational and administrative skills. Willingness to become a member of this church. The musical competencies are ability in a wide range of styles, including Christian classics (hymns), contemporary music, Southern gospel, and other forms of Christian music. Ability to lead a musical worship service and to produce and direct special events and programs. Ability to play piano, organ, or guitar with professional quality (desired). Ability to arrange, transpose, record, and sequence music. Ability to compose (desired). Ability to direct a hand bell choir or willingness to be trained to do so. Ability to manage technical aspects needed for the worship services and programs of the church, i.e. sound boards, theater lights, video editing, PowerPoint, etc. (desired).
