Job Description:
To reach youth of junior and senior high ages through participation in ministry opportunities, help youth discover and strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ, and to incorporate youth into the life of the church.

Personal character of the candidate must exemplify the life of Christ.
Age 21 or older.
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
Clean background check.
Valid driver’s license and car insurance.
Active in the life of a church for at least three years.
Available to work with a varying schedule, including three to four evenings per week and Sunday.
Some technology know-how and a willingness to learn the current projection system.
Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities and Expectations:
Work with the Youth Board to create and oversee a comprehensive junior and senior high youth program.
Build connections with youth and their parents outside the church by making home visits, attending at least one sporting event per week, and attending at least one fine arts event per month throughout the year. (West Delaware athletic activity pass provided.)
Assist the Senior Pastor with junior high confirmation.
Work with the Children’s Education Director to coordinate senior and junior high Sunday school programs, assist with Vacation Bible School, and plan youth-led worship for Easter Sunrise Service.
Work with the Mission Coordinator to organize youth mission and service trips.
Work with the Administrative Secretary to keep youth activities updated in the church bulletin, newsletter, and web page.
Work with the Administrative Secretary to record and balance all youth expenses and accounts.
Build and work with a core of volunteers to help with all youth activities including, but not limited to:
Senior high youth group
Senior high small group studies
5th Quarter Activities or equivalent
Youth service and mission trips
Junior and senior high Sunday school
All youth group fundraising
Annual planning/visioning retreat
Attend weekly staff meeting to coordinate schedule with church staff.
Maintain necessary youth and volunteer forms and background checks.
Maintain all equipment in the youth room and youth office.
Maintain the pop machine.
Maintain the CORE youth group Facebook account.
Be open to the possibilities for new ministries as they arise.

A mentor (appointed by the Youth Board) will meet with the youth director once a week for the first 90 days for prayer, planning, and venting.
