Denominations: Non-Denominational
Church Size: 751 to 1000
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

Just to start off… here’s two things you won’t hear at IMPACT:
“We’ve never done it that way before” & “You’ll have to ask the committee first.”

Impact is simply a church for the young and young at heart who is looking for the BEST possible Pastor we can find! Is that you?

A Little History:
Impact is a non-denominational Christian Church. That's it. Plain and simple. A body of REAL people, RELEVANT in their approach, RADICAL in their faith, and RELATIONAL in their philosophy! We preach the word with PASSION. In theology we are biblically conservative but in methodology, our approach is out on the edge! Impact is a 10 year old church planted in March of 2000 through the STADIA: New Church Strategies network

Our website is! Our Senior Pastor is a former youth guy from the Midwest… but he’s always been Californian… he was just born out of his element! God also brought us an amazing Worship Pastor with long multi-colored hair, an Executive Pastor who used to be an attorney and worked for Disney, and a whole bunch of other unique and gifted characters (pun intended on the Disney thing) who all love God.

What we’re looking for:
1. Spiritual Sensitivity
a. Integrity – first and foremost
b. Daily connection, devotion & love for the Lord
c. Servant’s heart
d. Team player

2. Experience
a. 3+ years at 1000+ church
b. Proven track record
c. Excellent communicator who knows and effectively communicates to his audience
d. Starter and developer of teams
e. Developer of leaders

3. People skills
a. A people encourager
b. Ability to develop & strengthen community
c. Clear and effective written and verbal communication
d. Developer of confidence in others
e. Willing and able to resolve conflict

4. Think outside of the box
a. See impossibilities as opportunities
b. Willing to do anything but sin to reach lost people

5. Attention to detail
a. Organize and keep schedule, appointments, etc.
b. Able to make and execute a plan
c. Sees the advantage of sweating the small stuff in light of the big stuff

6. Take us to next level
a. Elevate our whole team to do church better
b. Build new teams
c. Develop and enhance existing teams
d. Resource new ministries

7. Education
a. Bachelors+ preferred

What We Have to Offer:
Besides a gargantuan vision that’s bigger than any of us… we have a talented and unified staff who all share a risk-taking DNA. We are on the verge of going from 4 to 5 services (weekend attendance approaching 1,000) and if that doesn’t get your juices going, the best thing of all is that God shows up EACH week. We kid you not! We can’t explain it and we’ve never seen anything like it. He is moving and blessing us like crazy (not to mention that we’re in beautiful Laguna/Elk Grove/ Sacramento California – where the weather is awesome and there’s little to no humidity!).

As far as the nuts and bolts go, this position is being created from duties currently held by the Senior Pastor and the Executive Pastor (or are not getting done at all). The position reports to the Senior Pastor but is a key part of our senior leadership team having input on all major decisions. We are really looking for someone to develop our existing leaders and teams to help take our entire ministry to the next level. There will also be plenty of opportunities for a gifted communicator to teach at our weekend worship services.

Impact’s Core Values:
1. Lost people matter to God and should matter to us by our lifestyle, attitude and additional church plants.
2. Excellence and creativity honors God and relevance connects people to the church.
3. Acceptance through loving relationships should permeate the church by purposely noticing and caring for those around you.
4. Life change happens best in (small) IMPACT groups, and participation is understood with membership and encouraged for all attenders.
5. Empowered, gift-based leadership enables people to do ministry effectively.
6. Full devotion to Christ is NORMAL by passionately committing to worship, prayer, serving, giving, Bible reading, discipleship and accountability.
7. The Bible is absolutely true, being perfect, complete and relevant to our lives.

We need JUST the right guy… and we’re praying – BIG TIME! If you are that special Executive, Teaching, Ministry, Development Pastor type guy… and if you’re feeling the call… for real… check out our website (soon to be overhauled) and then send us your resume and a PERSONAL email of why you feel led to apply. We can then take the next step! God has His wonderful hand on this church. We need a team-player with a servant’s heart to help us accomplish HIS vision… email today so we can get the ball rolling ASAP! Time is a wastin’!
