Administrative Assistant – Publications & Communications Coordinator

Position: Administrative Assistant

1 Experience and skills commensurate with duties of secretary with the willingness to serve as a backup for the Administrative Assistant – Receptionist when workload requires it
2. Demonstrated experience in publications or communications
3. An understanding of the basic spectrum of communications, publication strategies and social media including the willingness to embrace emerging communications technologies
4. Understanding and knowledge of branding and implementation of branding initiatives
5. Committed to a team staff environment with a desire to coach and mentor others in the use of communications
6. Basic knowledge of network and Internet technologies with an ability to identify needed technology and assess the quality of potential vendors
7. Proficiency in the following computer programs:
A) Microsoft programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
Graphic design programs such as Photoshop, Acrobat Adobe and/or Adobe Creative Suite
B)Website programs – an understanding of HTML language and/or web publishing software such as Adobe Dreamweaver
8. Demonstrated ability to design, develop and produce a wide array of communications, such as digital, web-based and print media
9. Proficiency in layout and design skills for both print and digital

Reports to: Director of Administrative Services

Performance Responsibilities:
1. Maintain website and other internet communications, i.e., Facebook
2. Create church newsletter and other promotional materials as assigned
3. Perform other administrative duties as assigned
4. Serve as backup to the Administrative Assistant/Receptionist
5. Attend staff meetings and serve as ex-officio member of the Communications Committee
