Full Time Exempt Position with Benefits
To produce and direct the planning and execution of all worship services; in partnership primarily with the Senior Pastor, Director of Music Ministries, and Director of Contemporary Worship Ministries, and secondarily with all Associate Pastors.

? Oversight and/or execution of the details relating to the vision & practices for all worship services including production of bulletins, and any other liturgical tools or elements for worship services
? Lead all worship planning meetings, in partnership with Senior Pastor.
? Provide individual worship preparation input and assistance, as needed, with preaching pastor and music leaders; may include writing liturgies, suggesting music, brainstorming and/or fine-tuning creative ideas, etc.
? Attend and assess all worship services each Sunday; facilitate debriefing of worship services and events, and help ensure implementation of suggestions in the future
? Oversee staff and volunteers involved in worship (sound, set up, children’s ministry/choirs, deacons, ushers, flowers, fine arts, etc.)
? Audio/Visual staff supervision
? Oversee and coordinate scheduling of worship leaders (pastors, staff, volunteers, elders) for the 8:30 and 10 AM services. Partner with the Director of Contemporary Worship for the eleven:27 and The 5:05
? Prepare worship leaders for all worship services, i.e. provide instructions and coaching to lay leaders as needed; supply pastors and staff with litanies, text, general assistance, etc.
? Oversee and coordinate scheduling of special worship service elements (baptisms, All-Church announcements, commissionings, multi-media presentations, etc.)
? Coordinate worship “props,” i.e. candles, crosses, media, lights, room set-up, etc including the more complex weekly needs of the eleven:27 service.
? Facilitate Sunday pre-worship meetings for all services
? Meet regularly with Director of Contemporary Worship and semi-regularly with Associate Pastor for MOED to manage the needs of the eleven:27 and The 5:05
? Financial management responsibility for all worship budgets including WFA, worship administration, special worship elements, worship teams, all-church worship, etc.
? Staff Liaison to Worship & Fine Arts Committee (attend monthly meetings and ensure Committee is kept informed of ongoing worship planning - currently on hiatus)
? Staff Liaison to Fine Arts volunteers in the congregation (art, drama, dance)
? Facilitate/troubleshoot weekly radio broadcast with sound team and KFAX as necessary
? Maintain archival recordings and other information for all services and worship events
? Manage publicity for all First-Pres worship events
? Partner with the Director of Administration and Staff to manage the communications for the church
? Co-Leader of the eleven:27 Team (with Mary Ellen Azada and John Yoo) and of The 5:05 Community Team (with John Yoo) with primary responsibility for Sunday logistics coordination

? All-Church Worship: Primary responsibility for producing this annual event, which includes overseeing budget, planning worship with Senior Pastor and music staff, facilitating coffee hour and picnic, partnering with individual departments to integrate All-Church involvement, partnering with Cal Performances for all logistics and technical details, managing leadership team of approximately 20 staff and lay leaders, overseeing 300+ volunteers
? Global Church Conference: Provide oversight, facilitation, and creative input for worship planning; handle all logistics, stage managing, etc. of worship throughout the weekend, including working with speakers to facilitate all plenary sessions.
? All Church Conference: Co-Direct worship with John Yoo; includes creation of thematically appropriate worship programs which will be inspiring to a wide-range of ages and worship sensibilities, as well as actual musical leadership with the band at ACC
? Special worship services: Partner with Associate Pastor for Caring Ministries. Includes writing liturgies, directing music, leading worship, and other creative leadership in addition to execution of the details of all services

Desired Skill Set
Strong communication skills
Detail-Oriented (while holding the big picture vision and ideals)
Ability to direct small and large groups of people
Knowledge and experience with traditional, contemporary, and emergent worship styles
Musical skills are a plus, but not essential
