Job Description:
This is a fulltime position aimed at developing and sustaining a youth ministry program that equips youth to grow in faith toward Christian maturity. Develops and sustains ministries to equip parents for their work as primary Christian nurturers. A passionate person that has experience leading youth ministry programs working in partnership with the Bibleland Director.

Job Description:

Provide Organizational Leadership and Oversight for the Following Programs:
• Affirmation University – our confirmation program for youth 6th through 8th grades
• Sunday Night Alive (SNA) – our youth worship
• Junior Luther League, Senior Luther League and College & Careers activities and events
• Acolyte Coverage
• Youth Mission/Summer Trips
• Cross Over – transition celebration from Junior to Senior High and Cross On – transition celebration from Senior High to College & Career
• Bootcamp – transition celebration from Bibleland to Junior Luther League
• Weekly Bible Studies
• First Communion Class

Equip Youth for Growth in Faith Toward Mature Christian Adulthood:
• Actively build relationships with youth as advisor, counselor, friend and spiritual guide
• Motivate, encourage, integrate youth into life and ministry of the congregation

Equip Parents to Nurture their Children’s Walk with Faith:
• Provide educational opportunities that address the needs of families in varying stages of life
• Promote Christian service and outreach in which youth and adults/families can work together in sharing their faith
• Encourage active participation and ownership of parents in the spiritual life of their youth

Equip Volunteers in the Support of Youth Ministry Activities:
• Train and inspire Congregation adults/families for ministry among the youth

Communication and Problem Solving:
• Serve as a communications liaison between youth ministry and all other ministries
• Document and communicate assigned work and progress to congregation
• Communicate problems or issues in a timely manner
• Analyze and resolve problems
• Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolution

Financial Accountability:
• Create annual budget estimates
• Maintain accurate and updated financial tracking

Qualifications and Requirements:

Faith and Maturity:
• A Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a person of daily prayer, Bible Study, and a strong worship life
• High personal integrity, deeply grounded in God’s grace

• BS, Youth Ministry, Christian education and/or equivalent formal training, or equivalent work experience

• Preferably served in volunteer or internship positions for 2 years

Critical Skills:
• Must possess strong organizational and planning skills and willingness to work in a team setting
• Must possess strong computer/technical expertise
• Excellent partnering, communication, and negotiation skills with youth, parents, families, staff and church members
• Able to analyze and resolve problems
• Able to work effectively in a strong Customer service/team oriented environment
• Able to take on multiple assignments, while maintaining a successful level of completion in all responsible work; able to mentor others to do the same
• Able to prioritize effectively
• Able to develop, present, and effectively communicate ideas and strategies to a variety of audiences
