Title: Assimilation and Care Pastor

Reporting Relationship: The Assimilation and Care Pastor will report to the Lead Pastor. The Care Coordinator and the Assimilation and Care Assistant will report to the Assimilation and Care Pastor. The pastor will be a member of the Senior Staff.

Function: Provide visionary and strategic leadership to all assimilation and pastoral care initiatives. Oversee the development, training and provision of care services to our faith community. Oversee the development and administration of serving opportunities that fulfill the needs of individuals and the church. The pastor will be the main contact for pastoral care emergencies outside of normal business hours.
• Passionately communicate vision for engaging faith community members into our ministry by offering care and support services and/or groups and offering serving and connection opportunities that could help them grow spiritually, relationally, and missionally
• Create an approachable and welcoming atmosphere for individuals and families to feel comfortable bringing their physical, spiritual and emotional needs in a spirit of confidentiality
• Lead and empower volunteer, staff and pastoral care teams including visitation ministry (hospitals, nursing/retirement homes, homebound, etc.), hospitality ministry (weddings, special services, etc.), and assistance ministry (emergency needs and counseling referrals)
• Lead and empower volunteer mentoring and support group ministries that offer learning environments that promote spiritual, relational and missional growth consistent with Ridge Points mission and vision
• Collaborate with RP staff and ministries to ensure a clear pathway to connect within the RP faith community for both service and discipling relationships
• Develop and administer a church-wide volunteer equipping program including recruitment, interviewing, and matching of people, skills, tasks and gifts
• Monitor and evaluate the volunteer needs of various ministries and programs within the church
• Develop team goals and program objectives in conjunction with the strategic planning process of RPCC
• Develop and oversee the administration of budget for Assimilation and Care team, including managing our counseling partnership with Winning at Home

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ resulting in a life lived in obedience to the will of God as described in the Bible
• Beliefs consistent with Ridge Point Church “Statement of Belief”
• Fulfillment of the Biblical qualifications of Elder
• Understands and owns the vision and values of Ridge Point Community Church
• Demonstrated passion for encouraging leaders in their area of ministry to fulfill the mission of RPCC
• Preferred three years experience in leading successful ministry in growing church environment or three years experience in leading business, church or para-church operations
• Preferred three years of proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate strong teams
• Excellent communication and listening skills – ability to consistently encourage and support others
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and empower volunteer leaders in ways promoting their spiritual growth
• Visionary leader; forward thinker; self-directed; teachable spirit
• Spiritual gifts of leadership, shepherding, and/or administration
• Member or willing to become a member of Ridge Point Church within 6 months of employment
