Job Description:
To grow the Elevate (6-7th grade) community of students and their families by developing creative
programs and connected relationships of students & leaders.

Christ Presbyterian Church has a vision “to inspire all generations to follow Jesus, love
others, and live missionally.”

The Student Ministries at CPC serves about 700+ students (grades 6-12) in the
southwest suburbs of Minneapolis. We are blessed to have a strong youth staff with a
commitment to teamwork and collaboration. We meet weekly for prayer, study,
encouragement, and long-range planning. The Middle School staff also meets weekly to
oversee the shepherding of our students as well as all program elements of our
ministry. Our staff consists of:

1 Director of Student Ministries
1 Director of Middle School Ministries
1 Associate Director of Elevate (6-7th grade)
1 Associate Director of Commitment Class (8th grade)
2 Associate Directors of High School Ministry (9-12th grade)
1 Part-time Administrative Coordinator

This is a full-time, exempt position, 40+ hours per week, reporting to the Director of
Student Ministries.

Creative Programming (30%)

· Plan and lead all aspects of Wednesday night Elevate programming
· Create a welcoming, energetic, and conducive atmosphere for students
· Develop program lineup and leader meetings agendas
· Plan, create, and distribute weekly curriculum to leaders
· Develop and execute games, skits, and other programmatic elements as
· Speak at least 50% of the time in Elevate during large group teachings
· Speak occasionally at other middle school programs (retreats, parent nights,
· Point-lead the planning and implementation of Sunday Morning Communities
Relating (25%)
· Attend weekly student ministries staff meetings
· Attend weekly middle school staff meetings
· Develop relationships with a broad number of students through Wednesday
night programs, intentional one-on-ones, and outside relational contact work
(attending games, concerts, etc.), including student leaders
· Handle personal and leadership issues with students and leaders as they
· Meet with and disciple one or two students on a regular basis
· Spend regular time with adult volunteer leaders, including YouthLink parent
representatives, for encouragement and empowerment
· Engage with other members on the CPC staff
Leading (25%)
· Help recruit, train, and develop 30+ student leaders and their adult coaches
· Oversee Elevate Associate who helps plan & implement weekly program
· Lead the student Tech Team
· Equip and empower a team of college interns during summer months
Event Planning (15%)
· Plan and lead regular middle school Ruckus events throughout the year
· Bottom-line middle school Avalanche ski trip
· Assist in the planning of and attend all middle school/student ministry trips
including Avalanche, Rockslide, Quest, CC Fall & Spring Retreats, mission
trips, and college intern retreat
Learning (5%)
· Spend regular time with at least one CPC staff member (outside of student
ministry team) to be connected, supported, and challenged.
· Set aside time each week for use of spiritual reading, studying, & learning
