Job Description:
Position Description
We are looking for a full-time Associate Pastor who:
Has a passion for evangelism
Is a good communicator
Has the ability and desire to train and involve others in outreach
Has a proven track record of outreach success
Has at least a Master’s degree (preferably M.Div. or Th.M.)

In recently drafting a five-year strategic plan, our leadership team of Pastors and Elders has recognized the need for us to become more outwardly focused. To lead us in this exciting transformation process we are looking for a man who is motivated for outreach, and marked by godliness, integrity and joy (including the ability to laugh at himself). You will be working alongside our experienced Senior and Youth pastors in conjunction with the leadership team and all ministry leaders. We envision expanding the scope of current outreach programs as well as initiating new events over the next several years, in order to serve and win the next generation for Christ. Oversight of our teaching programs and occasional preaching are also required.

We offer a very competitive compensation package, including a salary, housing allowance, professional expenses, continuing education, and comprehensive healthcare insurance.

Church Description
Sayre Woods Bible Church is an evangelical church founded in 1956, and affiliated with the Conservative Baptist movement. We are situated on a primary commuting corridor to New York City. We are currently building an “all-purpose” room to provide much-needed space for educational, recreational, and other “church-hall” type events. We also envision completion of this project as an opportunity to support additional community outreach.

We are in a culturally diverse area representing many nationalities and walks of life, and this is reflected in our congregation. We have two Sunday morning services featuring contemporary worship music and biblically-based teaching. Our strengths have been in the area of family and children-oriented programs, including a very active AWANA program reaching about 150 children (many from outside the church), a summer VBS program, and Sunday School. We also have a well-attended youth program supported by our Youth Pastor, Adam Wormann. We currently have a combined average of about 400 people in our Sunday morning services.

We are known locally for our “Drive Through the Christmas Story” event which reaches about 4,000 visitors per year. This large-scale event stages ten scenes covering the birth, death, and resurrection of Christ and requires several hundred participants over a ten-day period. It is typically featured every year in local newspapers and television segments.
We support 25 missionaries and organizations, both locally and around the world.
We are looking to find the man of God's choosing who is the best fit for us. Exciting and challenging opportunities are ahead of us as we strive to be the church and people that God wants us to be, making it known that:

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21, NIV)
