Are you a choral director, who can also lead a rockin' worship band from the microphone and guitar and/or keyboard?
If so, we may have the full-time job for you!

Wildwood United Methodist Church is located in Magnolia Texas, a growing community just west of The Woodlands and 35 miles northwest of Downtown Houston. We have led the way in the development of a dynamic cutting-edge contemporary worship (11:00am), while still maintaining a strong traditional worship (8:30am) in a congregation of varying styles and ages.

We seek a Director of Music Ministries who will have ultimate responsibility over the entire music ministry of the church. Responsibilities include coordinating and supervising all music programs of the church for all age groups, including a traditional choir, pop/rock worship band, and outreach music ministries. You will recruit and maintain lay participation and be involved in community events at the church.

This position requires a love for the Lord and a heart for worship, proven leadership and communication skills, extensive musical background, technical knowledge, and vocal and instrumental skills. Qualified candidate must be a team player and able to perform in a variety of musical styles (“from Bach to Rock”).

* Note: We realize that musicians who can do BOTH styles VERY WELL are few and far between. This vacancy could also be filled as two separate part-time positions (a guitar or keyboard playing rock and roll worship leader and a separate choral director). It could be thought of this way as two 20hr/week positions.

Things to consider:
1.) We have no organ in our church. There are no plans to purchase an organ.
2.) "Contemporary" worship in our case means anything written in the last ten or so years.
3.) No jazz flute, or excessive bongo playing is tolerated in our contemporary worship (Except once a year on "70's Sunday").
4.) We seek to incorporate music relevant to the current seeker and churched culture alike.
