The Mission of our people is to Love God, and Love People. We desire to spread a passion for God in all things for the joy of all people. We are baptist in theology, baptist in polity, and joyful in our relationships! We are committed to old and new, fine and folk, depth and simplicity, head and heart, design and spontaneity, awe, and intimacy – with God-centeredness, intensity, and being real. We aim to be a Bible- filled, soul-winning, passionate, multigenerational, and worshipping congregation. Age and diversity matter. Worship leadership means worshipping contagiously in front of others. Pastor qualifications in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 expected.
Position philosophy: The most important function of worship in the church is to focus our attention on the object of our worship, God. In becoming focused, we can enter into true worship, giving glory to the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ under direction of God’s Holy Spirit. The manifestation of glory and honor to God is not always the same in all worshippers. Some may be active in worship, raising hands and voices toward heaven. Others may stand in awe in quietness and deep reverence. Some may weep. All of these are manifestations of true worship when directed by the Holy Spirit, and these should be enhanced and encouraged by the music used in worship services. Because of the powerful influence that music can have on the mind and on the emotions, it is essential that thoughtful and prayerful consideration be exercised in choosing music for use in the church. All music performed at or under the auspices of PHBC must engage people for the purpose of bringing honor, praise, worship, and glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
