PASTOR OF YOUTH AND MISSIONAL LIFE
The Vineyard Christian Fellowship-Westside (West Los Angeles) is seeking a full-time Pastor of Youth and Missional Life. This role will primarily involve leadership of all aspects of middle and high school ministry, and it will also include providing leadership for lifestyle and corporate outreach for our church community.
The Westside Vineyard has its roots in the early days of the emerging Vineyard movement. A few points about this community that relate to this opportunity:
The great adventure of being the Westside Vineyard is that our time and place lies at the forefront of an emerging post-modern and post-Christian culture. The Westside of Los Angeles reflects where the rest of America will soon be in terms of common cultural mindset.
Our current pastoral staff includes our Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor of Ministry and Leadership Development (female) Associate Pastor of Emerging Generations (leading a young adult congregation), Children's Pastor, Youth Pastor (transitioning in a very positive way to missional activities), Pastor of Worship and Hispanic Ministries (leading a new Spanish speaking congregation and worship), our Administrator, and several administrative support staff.
We are committed to the emerging generations, and we’re passionate towards being a church where each successive generation of lives and leaders will be blessed to rise up and reach their own generation. We desire to see the youth of our church and of the less traditional Westside reached with the love and power of God.
As a Vineyard community at-large, we are in a process of becoming more 'missional' in nature… maintaining our 'attractional' strengths while becoming more intentional about cultivating and mobilizing lives of compassion amidst the spheres of neighborhoods, workplaces and community needs. While the entire team of pastors and elders have processed and embraced this calling, we seek a pastoral role with a special embodiment of this calling in order to help initiate, cultivate, and equip towards this end.
