Job Description:
Faith Bible Church (FBC) is located in The Woodlands, Texas, an awesome planned community north of Houston. The strong family orientation of community and the strong commitment of FBC leadership provide a strategic opportunity for ministry to children. FBC is looking for a children's pastor who will love children and lead this vision.


Qualifications:

• Leadership skills – the ability to supervise paid and volunteer staff
• Organizational skills – the ability to develop, implement and assess the effectiveness of a ministry plan
• Recruiting/training skills – the ability to recruit and train children’s ministry staff
• Shepherding skills – the ability to love and shepherd children and children’s ministry staff
• Communication/teaching skills – with children, with leaders and with the congregation
• Relational skills – ability to maintain healthy relationships and resolve conflicts
• 3 years of vocational children’s ministry experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• Biblical training – undergraduate or graduate level
• Doctrinal compatibility
• Team player
• Commitment to children’s ministry long term

Position Description:

1. To provide effective leadership for the children’s ministry, including:

• Loving and shepherding children and children’s ministry leaders
• Developing a vision and strategy for children’s ministry
• Imparting a vision for children’s ministry to the congregation
• Providing organization and leadership for children’s ministry at all levels
• Continually assessing ministry effectiveness and tracking progress on goals
• Communicating effectively with children’s ministry leaders, workers, parents and children
• Direct teaching and leadership with children

2. To be responsible for the recruitment, training and supervision of paid and volunteer staff:

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive recruitment plan
• Providing training for children’s ministry staff
• Providing oversight and support for children’s ministry staff

3. To oversee the educational plan for children’s ministries:

• Keeping abreast of current trends and resources for children’s ministry
• Overseeing the assessment and selection of children’s curriculum
• Communicating the educational plan to parents and workers
