Job Description:

Ovid Community Church in Pendleton/Anderson, Indiana is looking for a Student Ministries Pastor who has a genuine love and enthusiasm for middle school and high school students. He should have the ability to communicate God’s Word with accuracy and relevance, possessing a Biblical worldview to assist students in addressing the cultural issues facing youth today. We are looking for a person who is well qualified to train, oversee, and encourage a team of adult leaders who will assist him in the ministry and is capable of overseeing our Children’s Ministry Director. Our students have expressed a desire to have their next Youth Pastor be someone who can create an environment where students are excited about being a part of youth group; a place where they feel accepted and appreciated. Yet, they also desire to be challenged to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ so that they might better influence their friends for Christ.

At OCC we value Bible-centered (expository) preaching, relationships, prayer, and strong children’s & youth ministries. We are an independent evangelical missional church with approx. 450 attendees, one-third of those being students in high school and below. A solid foundation presently exists in our youth ministries, with tremendous potential for expansion. We currently have a great group of students, and a good core of adult leaders who assist with the ministry. We have a building that includes a gym that is multi-functional. One added benefit-- our area Youth Pastors gather together weekly, and provide a very strong network of support for each other.

Pendleton is a well-known community of 10,000 people, located just 19 miles north of Indianapolis. The schools in Pendleton have a strong reputation for excellence in academics, athletics, and music.
