Job Description:

The Worship & Music Ministry Director articulates and implements the vision for all aspects of music ministry across the congregation, embracing the unique “DNA” of Ginghamsburg Church. Responsibilities include recruiting and deploying talented teams of musicians, vocalists and worship leaders; discipling those who serve within the ministry; charting and arranging music for vocalists and musicians; and partnering with the Student and Children’s Ministry staff teams to ensure excellent music ministry church-wide.

Worship at Ginghamsburg:
=============================================
Each week, Ginghamsburg Church hosts five large worship celebrations across both Saturday and Sunday on its Main Campus and two worship celebrations on Sunday mornings and one Sunday evening at its Dayton-based campus. The high energy, high quality music is a combination of popular secular, Christian contemporary, gospel, and rearranged/contemporized hymns. Typical weekend band consists of electric & acoustic guitar, electric bass, keyboard/piano, drum set. Vocal teams range from large gospel choirs, to soloists, to praise teams.


Responsible for:

--Articulating and implementing the vision for all aspects of music ministry across the congregation, embracing the unique “DNA” of Ginghamsburg
--Enlistment, supervision and development of all worship celebration band leaders, assuring quality musicians/bands/vocalists for all venues and events as needed
--Commitment to consistent, weekly small-group-based discipleship, leadership development, and equipping/training unpaid servants for great ministry
--Partnering with Children’s/Student Ministry to arrange and assure overall cohesion and excellent, simultaneous music ministry church-wide

Skills:

--Excellent ability to train and empower leaders and work in teams
--Vocal and instrumental expertise in multiple styles of music
--Worship leader, band leader and ensemble/choir leader experience
--Ability to arrange and chart music of all styles
--Exceptional communication and organizational skills
--Great relational skills with people of all ages and situations
--Ability to work in and contribute to an overall staff team “strengths-based” environment


Education & Experience:
=============================================
--Degree preferred
--Paid staff experience in megachurch setting (required)
--Experience in leading music and worship in weekend celebrations
--Track record of successful recruitment/equipping/training of servant-musicians and vocalists
--Experience with audio/sound or media helpful


Additional Responsibilities:

--Participation and teamwork with both worship design team and the senior pastor to assure vision, direction and implementation of all music/worship initiatives
--Regional and national networking for continued information, ideas and strategic impact in music/worship ministries
--Development of a personal plan for continued growth/expertise in target music ministry areas of responsibility
--Ability to create original resources, or to team and contribute with other staff on original projects
