POSITION OVERVIEW:
* Help teens become followers of Jesus Christ
* Give oversight to all youth ministries, cradle to college

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
* Hands on leading of teens (6th - 12th grade)
* Spend time with and disciple young people
* Organize youth events
* Be primary teacher of the youth group
* Develop the talents of the teens so they’re involved in their own youth group as well as in the overall ministry of the church
* Develop a team of adults to assist in youth ministries
* Oversee all youth related ministries (This will require launching a college and career group and checking up with Wednesday night children’s ministry leaders and those working in Sunday morning youth ministries and updating the senior pastor)
* Communicate with the church regarding youth ministry (This includes writing a monthly newsletter article and making sure announcements for youth events are in the bulletin five weeks in advance)
* Integrate into the public schools
* Reach out to the teens in our community
* Attend staff meetings
* Involve yourself in Wednesday night ministries
* Lead a small group
* Make video segments to plug our ministries when the needs arise
* Help the church to become more media savvy by finding clips for sermon illustrations and the general edification of the church family as needed

EXPECTATIONS:>
* Regularly attend church services including our Wednesday night services
* Abstain from alcohol
* Dress is business casual for Sunday morning services as you are a leader (no tie required; no jeans)
* Come to our annual church work day and attend events designed for fellowship such a picnics
* Visit (We encourage all pastors to do some visiting/shepherding)
