Job Description:
Church of the Shepherd is seeking a full time Worship Arts Director. This is not a worship/music leader position, please read job description carefully for details.

Responsibilities will include:
*Sharing, communicating and implementing the mission and vision for all aspects of Church of the Shepherd as determined by Executive Leadership and the Lead Pastor.
*Direct responsibility for sharing, developing and implementing the COS mission and vision for the worship planning team.
*Overall responsibility for providing the adults of COS a worshipful experience which facilitates leading people into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
*Assuring that various channels of media are used to reach people in the worship experience including music, visuals, testimonies, sounds, lighting, and congregation participation.
*Responsible for the overall effect and feel of worship
*Supervision of worship leaders (both paid and unpaid)
*Managing and facilitating the meetings and efforts of the various worship planning teams and the Audio Visual Team (AV Team).

*Models standards and expectations of leaders within Church of the Shepherd, including membership, worship attendance, small group participation, lifestyle of tithing and generosity, and serving out of call and giftedness

*Exceptional communication and organizational skills
*Strong knowledge of worship styles
*Good relational skills with congregation which helps in determining how best to reach them spiritually
*An understanding of cultural trends as they relate to all areas of worship
*Must be able to positively direct subordinates (both paid and un-paid staff) to grow in their areas of giftedness
*Must be able to identify gifts of ministry, recruit and train leaders within the congregation, and match them to corresponding ministry areas
*Ability to work in, and contribute to, an overall staff team environment
*Strong knowledge of media production and the arts.

Education and Experience Requirements:
*Bachelors degree in related field or seminary degree
*Paid staff experience in large church setting
*Expertise in worship media and arts
*Track record of successful recruitment/equipping/training of unpaid servants (volunteers)

Additional Responsibilities:
*Participation and teamwork with overall Church of the Shepherd ministry staff team in visioning
*Working to keep the worship fresh and “relevant” by assessing trends and understanding the congregation’s spiritual needs
*Regional and national networking for continued information, ideas and strategic impact in areas of worship
*Will work with respective ministry leaders to provide information on an integrated ministry approach as it relates to worship
*Will lead the weekly worship planning/development meetings and will manage the weekend details (appropriate teams/people contacted, specific items needed for worship are on hand, etc)
*Leading/facilitating the quarterly worship planning retreats
*Coordination of children’s choirs performance in worship
*Development of a personal plan for continued growth/expertise in target ministry areas of responsibility
