Job Description:

Freedom Church is a contemporary Christian fellowship; a group of everyday people who have found joy and hope in following Jesus Christ. We believe in the Bible as God's message for all ages and as our pattern for daily living. We are a young suburban church, started in 1992 in the growing community of Owasso, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa. We have around 350 people in an average service.

We are currently searching for a full-time Children’s pastor to provide oversight for Freedom’s children’s ministry for age’s birth through 5th grade. The Children’s pastor will lead the Children’s Ministry Leadership Team’s (CMLT) and provide leadership/supervision for other paid children’s workers. In addition, the Children’s pastor will be responsible for recruiting and equipping volunteers as well as recruit and train team members for various teams within the children’s ministry department.

The Children’s pastor will ensure that the gospel is presented to children in the care of Children’s ministry and ensure that biblical and relevant teaching is provided throughout children’s ministry.

•Vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ expressed through daily disciplines of prayer, Bible study, and worship.
•Be a member in good standing of Freedom Church, to include agreement with and full support of the Freedom mission statement and values.
•Ability to work within a team environment and with a servant’s heart.
•Ability to develop and build ministry teams.
•Ability to motivate people.
•Excellent communication skills.
•Passion for influencing and affecting children’s lives with the gospel of Christ.
•A minimum of two (2) years experience in children’s ministry.
•Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and/or seminary. Preference given to degrees in Christian Education/Education.
•Develop leadership skills and increase understanding of children’s ministry through on-going training, ministry networking and personal development.
