Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY

Christ Community Church is looking for a gifted leader to lead our ministry to children. We are looking for someone who is passionately in love with Jesus Christ, loves working with children, and has strong team-building and organizational skills. This is a full-time staff position that involves leadership and oversight of all ministries to children, birth through 5th grade. Additionally, this position provides many opportunities to minister to families, as well. CCC is not a highly programmed church, but we desire excellence in those ministries we do provide.



SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Leading.

a) Champions a biblically sound and inspiring vision for the spiritual development of our children.

b) Creates a mission statement and strategic plan for Children’s Ministries that grows out of the mission statement of the church.

c) Develops a Children’s Ministry Team (CMT) to carry out all ministries to children, birth – 5th grade.

d) Invests in the growth of CMT leaders by providing opportunities for spiritual formation, skill training, and team building.

e) Gives oversight to the CMT by leading a regular team meeting (frequency TBD). The agenda should be consistent with the director’s goals, but might include communicating important information, considering future ministries or events, evaluating current ministries, measuring the progress of stated plans, and ministering to the personal needs of team members.

f) Evaluates the effectiveness of all CMT leaders and provides appropriate feedback.

g) Develops and oversees a systematic plan for recruiting volunteers to serve in the various roles related to children’s ministry.

h) Develops and oversees a system for adequately training and providing support for all children’s ministry volunteers.

i) Provides oversight and support for church-sponsored childcare.

j) Develops a means of regularly communicating with parents in order to cast vision, build support, share vital information, and obtain feedback.



2) Administrative.

a) Gives administrative oversight to all age-level and ministry team coordinators.

b) Establishes timelines and schedules for the creation and termination of ministry activities.

c) Resources all volunteers with all necessary curricula and materials.

d) Develops an annual budget and submits it to the Finance Team for approval.

e) Coordinates and arranges all logistical functions for the ministries to include audio-visual support, facilities, snacks, special equipment, etc.

f) Takes responsibility for the creation and distribution of all communications to children, volunteers, and parents (Newsletter, Birthday cards, bulletin boards, web site, pamphlets, flyers, “We Miss You” cards, etc…).

c) The ability to determine and manage necessary processes for the launching of new events, activities or programs.

d) Adequate verbal communications skills to present clear, concise instructions and responses.

e) Ability to work without close supervision.

f) Ability to work through conflict and other stressful situations with emotional stability, objectivity, and optimism.

g) Develop and maintain rapport with children, parents, and staff.

h) Submit and be loyal to constituted authority.

i) Computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office.

Credentials and Experience.

· Bachelor’s degree.

· At least 2 years of experience in children’s ministry as leader or high-level assistant.

·Limited assistance from the administrative assistant. An administrative assistant will be available to take messages, copy materials with appropriate lead time, and receive and send mail.
