Job Title: Youth Ministry Leader
Reports To: Senior Pastor
Responsible For: Youth Volunteers
Employee Status: Part-Time (Initially)
Salary Range: DOE


PREAMBLE

Church of The Hills is a non-denominational community church located in the master-planned development of San Elijo Hills located in San Marcos, California. We are currently in need of a Youth Ministry Leader, who, under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, would be responsible for planning, facilitating and evaluating the Youth Ministry program. It is anticipated that this position will grow into that of a full time Youth Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

This person would have a calling to Youth Ministry with either Youth Ministry experience in a church setting and/or enrolled in a degreed program in Youth Ministry at an accredited college.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Design and implement a Youth Ministry focused towards teens in grades 6th – 12th.
• Recruit and develop a team of volunteers to do the work of the ministry.
• Sunday School & Weekday night Ministry
-Research, select and coordinate curriculum and studies, activities, outreach, and outings that teach Biblical principles applicable to the lives and dealings of today’s teens.
• Provide opportunities for one-on-one meetings with the youth for the purpose of getting to know them on a personal level.
• Design servant/leader programs to move teens from disciples to leaders within the ministry, the church and the community.



ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The successful candidate must be a Christian and fully support the theology of Church of The Hills. This individual's commitment to Christ will be evidenced in his/her personal life, family relationships, and ministry. His/her daily walk with God will be an example to the students with which he/she interacts. The selected individual will posses and utilize strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to today’s youth culture.

Must understand the maturity levels and characteristics of teens and the challenges they face today.

The ability to work efficiently and effectively in team situations is critical, as well as the ability to work independently.

Must possess solid time management skills and organizational abilities. The ability to coordinate several activities at once and to quickly analyze and resolve specific problems is important.

The ideal candidate should be creative, have a passion and heartfelt concern for teens, be high energy, hard working, and possess the ability to motivate others.
