Denominations: Church of God -- Cleveland
Church Size: 1501 to 2000
Job Type: Full-Time
Stevens Creek Church is accepting applications for a Teaching Pastor with an emphasis in pastoral care. This position is suited for a younger minister that is trained and confident in his spiritual gifts and natural talents. Stevens Creek works with a creative team approach to ministry. We seek to communicate the gospel in a way that people can understand it. We are contemporary, but not weird, edgy but not extreme, spirit-filled, but not goofy. We are a healthy, contemporary, charismatic, multi-site congregation serving Augusta, GA.
We would like someone with a passionate heart for the Lord, a person who has prepared himself to serve, and a team player. We would prefer someone that has larger church experience. This position would also oversee all pastoral care ministries and work with our Small Groups Director.
As I read through your information, I want to be open to the promptings of the Lord. Initially, I will be looking for individuals that are seeker sensitive in their philosophy and have an appreciation of charismatic theology. I would prefer someone that has an appreciation for the Church of God denomination. That's not mandatory, but it is something that I will be looking for. I also look for people who have a connection to Lee University. Now having said that I am open to the promptings of the Lord. Stevens Creek has and / or has had Presbyterians, SBC and Christian Church staffers. We deeply appreciate the communication style of Christian Church pastors. We don't want a "charis-maniac" style. We don't need people who scream and holler, but we do want passion and sincerity. You don't have to have a seminary degree, but there's no need to apply if you have not completed a degree from an accredited college or university. We are open to people of any age and race, but this position would be best suited for a younger person. As I get older, I surround myself with younger people so that the church will always remain culturally current.
