Job Description:

Grant Memorial Baptist Church (GMBC) is seeking to hire a Director of Worship Ministries to join our multi-staff team and to lead a ministry that includes worship teams, choirs, drama, multimedia and host teams. The primary purpose of the Worship Ministry of GMBC is to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is done by enhancing the congregation’s sense of celebration in worship, and leading the congregation to develop the inherent gifts of its individuals. The Worship Ministry will focus on the totality of our individual and corporate experience of God and create venues for and assist in expressions of praise and worship.

Our Church
Grant Memorial is a growing evangelical fellowship of approximately 1500 worshippers each Sunday. GMBC has two worship services:
•Worship Alive (9:30 a.m. Sundays) Traditional Service
•Live at Eleven (11:00 a.m. Sundays) Contemporary Service

Specific Responsibilities of Director
The specific responsibilities are as follows:
1. Leadership/Pastoral
•Along with the Senior Pastor, shepherd the people by leading them to discern, develop and use musical/worship gifts in the context of Grant’s overall ministry to glorify God and fulfill our ministry objectives.
2. Oversight
•Provide direct supervision of: Administrative Assistant – Worship Ministries; Worship Ministries Associate; Worship Ministries Intern;
•Oversee the drama for worship services, Christmas productions, Easter and other special services.

Characteristics, Abilities & Qualifications
The following are the characteristics and skills required of the individual filling the role of Director of Worship Ministries at Grant Memorial Church. Candidates should be aware that this is a leadership role, with an emphasis on Worship planning. The ideal candidate would have demonstrated the following characteristics, skills and abilities:

•Be a mature Christ-follower.
•Have a passion for worship and a vibrant prayer life.
•Personal integrity and self-motivation in the fulfillment of ministry.
•Musically gifted and trained.
•Possess a vision for worship and the ability to express that vision.
•Be familiar with all worship styles, and acquainted with music and worship resources.
•Experienced in mentoring and developing worship leadership and gifts in others.
•A growing theology and practice of Christ-centered worship.
•Knowledge of a variety of music styles, music theory, keyboard and other instruments.
