Job Description:
Faith Family Church is a vibrant, growing church of 4,000 members in Victoria, TX population 60,000. Our main auditorium is the largest venue in the 7-county area housing 2,400 seats, and the Children’s Ministry area includes 12,000 square feet of state-of-the-art, child-appropriate space that can hold up to 700 children from birth up to 5th grade. The FFC Children’s Ministry has over 300 dedicated volunteers serving 800+ children (birth through fifth grade) during the weekend and mid-week worship services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Be the primary visionary leader for the Children’s Ministry.
•Build trust and rapport along all lines of involvement, including students, parents, volunteers and staff.
•Insure that all policies and procedures are established and adhered to for all areas within Children’s Ministry.
•Develop and monitor annual goals, objectives and budgets in a timely manner.
•Work with FFC leadership to understand the goals and objectives of the church. Pursue an understanding of leadership’s expectations of Children’s Ministry as it relates to the all-church goals, services and events.
•Evaluate the current Children’s Ministry model, investigate possible alternative philosophies, build consensus with all constituencies, and implement approved changes, if any/needed.
•Work with the Children’s Ministry Team to develop an annual children’s ministry plan and budget that supports the church-wide goals. Manage Children’s Ministry activities to stay within the annual budget.
•Work with the Children’s Ministry Team to offer creative and fun, age-appropriate children’s program options for Sunday, mid-week services and special events.
•Oversee FFC’s annual Kid’s Camp, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and BIBLE CLUBS.
•Create and oversee additional programs to build into the lives of children and their families.
•Serve in a pastoral role to counsel and guide parents. Establish programs to assist in educating parents.
•Work with the broader staff to create outreach opportunities for children and their parents.
•Review, revise, elect and/or develop as needed curriculum and age appropriate learning objectives for all programs. Current curriculums include: Gospel Light; Group Hands-On; Elevate Kids
•Recruit, nurture, equip, motivate, and encourage a large network of volunteers and volunteer leaders to support these programs. It is estimated that 50-60% of the Children’s Pastor’s time will be spent recruiting, training, equipping, and encouraging “the saints (be they volunteers and/or staff) to do the work of the mission.”
•As a member of FFC’s broader pastoral team and a member of the strategic ministry planning team, assist with the development of church-wide ministry goals.

FFC’s Children’s Ministry Will:
•Offer fun, creative, and relevant programs that children love to attend and bring their friends, and where parents love to bring their children.
•Ensure each child learns of Jesus and has opportunity to choose to follow Him.
•Ensure each child matures in Christ, in their understanding of God’s Word, and that knowledge and training are translated into action.
•Provide ways for children to serve.
•Provide the means to reach children in the community.
•Provide parents and the adult congregation with an understanding of children's role in ministry and with a vision for reaching children for Christ.

Required Qualifications
•A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
•A commitment to personal prayer/devotion.
•A definitive grasp of Scripture and proven application.
•A Bachelors degree in Theology, Bible, Ministry, Child Development, Education, Business, Recreation Administration, Non-profit leadership, or related. A Masters and/or seminary degree is a plus.
•Five or more years proven track record, preferably in fulltime ministry with emphasis in Children’s, Youth, Family or related ministry. Significant long-term lay or volunteer experience within a vibrant children’s ministry will be considered.
•Demonstrated experience in leading a ministry/organization with 300+ participants.
•A strong and clear calling to fulltime ministry, preferably in children’s service or a related field.
•A proven ability to balance being an advocate for children’s ministries while keeping the vision of the organization as a whole in focus.
•In conjunction with peer leadership, an ability to develop a scope and sequence determining measurable benchmarks and overall outcomes (based on spiritual/biblical ideals) during the progression from birth through 5th grade.
•A proven and quantifiable history of methodology and success in developing and implementing a viable staff and volunteer recruitment process.
•A sincere, genuine love for children and families wanting to see them become more intimate with Jesus Christ.
•A willingness to agree and adhere to the Mission, Vision, Values, and What We Believe statements.
•An ability to multi-task with a capacity and organizational ability for leading a large organization.
•An ability and desire to serve in this role at Faith Family Church a minimum of 3 years (subject to satisfactory performance and at the discretion of FFC).
•Proven effectiveness as a business partner with senior leadership, peers, subordinates, volunteers and end-users. An ability to lead up, down, and across.
•Demonstrated leadership in creating a cohesive, people-oriented departmental team and being part of a leadership team with the same style.
•Experience working effectively with local organizations.

Desirable Qualifications:
•Ideally, experience in assisting a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization to greater excellence in operations, polices and systems while preserving the culture.
•An ability to be genuinely engaging and friendly with all constituents while being focused on getting the job done. He or she should be able to meet, greet, and recognize parents and volunteers (and their names!) but will not likely be a sanguine/upfront/Pied Piper type.
•The ideal successful candidate may have children of their own who will be involved in the ministry and/or may have a child who has recently been involved as a participant in children’s ministries.
•Experience in developing a mentoring/internship program for future children’s ministry professionals.
•Experience in related pastoral duties, including counseling, evangelism, visitation, child dedication, prayer, baptism, communion, etc.
•An understanding of developmental age benchmarks unique to children.
