POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Mission Administrative Assistant

Reports to: Executive Assistant to Pastor
Department: Missions
Supervises: Volunteers
Works With: Staff, Elders & Community
Classification: Interim Part-time,10-15hr/wk, non-exempt, Adm Asst
Date: January 2010
Hiring Range: $12.35-$15.50/hr

I. JOB SUMMARY:

The main focus of this position is to provide administrative and programmatic resources to the Mission program of LJPC. The primary responsibilities are listed below but are not limited to the following:

II. ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial and expense processing for Mission/Outreach activities(reimbursements, working w/mission partners to get checks)
• Communication to/from Mission Executive Committee and Mission Partner Committee (includes minutes, newsletter, coordination of events)
• Management of communication between Mission partners and LJPC
• Management of communication between Mission program and Session
• Management of Mission Splash publication(2-3 times/year) & Annual Mission Fair publication
• Management of Mission Event Calendar
• Coordination of Mission Partner meetings
• Management of Mission Experiences (trips to India, Malawi, Belize, Mexico, Annual Mission Fair)
• Mission database upkeep
• Mission event organization
• Periodic communication pieces and mailings
• Registration for trips and events
• Coordinating the use of the building – ServiceU program
• Attendance at all required LJPC Staff meetings

III. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Ability and experience to manage and administrate
• Ability to utilize technology to its fullest (computer programs, some graphic design etc.)
• Ability to work well on a team
• Ability to create, lead, and give vision to mission opportunity
• Proven ability to get a job/task completed
• Self starter and finisher
• Flexibility in schedule and/or project assignments
