Job Description:

MINISTRY DUTIES:
The Minister of Music shall provide overall direction and leadership in the worship of the congregation. The primary emphasis will be to take responsibility for providing a ministry in music that will help set the atmosphere for worship and the participation in worship of the congregation. Specific duties will include the following:
• Responsible for directing the adult choir
o including selection of music, recruitment, rehearsals
o performance at the regularly scheduled services and special events
• Working in close harmony with the Pastor to relate music to church programs and services
• Responsible for planning the worship services
• Encourage congregational singing as a means of corporate worship
• Responsible for assuring that those participating in the music ministry are adequately prepared and that the music selected is appropriate
• Establish and manage music budget
o Responsible for special presentations of music, such as those at Christmas, and Easter
• Expected to attend weekly choir practice
o currently Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons
o approximately 1.5 hours
• Part of the church staff
o Attendance at staff meeting
