Administrative Coordinator for Mission and Ministry
Seeking full time ministry coordinator and administrator for a mid-sized, progressive, north-west suburban (Chicago) United Methodist Church.
Person filling this role will have
- strong organizational,
- supervision skills
to provide administrative support to pastors, staff and congregational leaders in a high energy, active and dynamic environment.
Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness in a changing environment and be able to respond to a wide range of needs and issues. They will be able to define, execute and complete projects in a timely way and critically evaluate their success. They will be able to balance the demands of both tasks and relationships, being able to organize their own work, and that of others and be flexible as they work collaboratively to support the ministry of the church.
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
- Facilities and office management:
Oversight of printed and web communications;
Space and event coordination;
Lead, develop and own relationships with vendors and renters;
Understand and utilized church systems and processes;
Utilize software tools and systems;
- Program year coordination with pastors, staff and lay leadership;
- Management of 2-4 part time employees
- Active participation and attendance at Church Council meetings.
Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of college and 5-8 years experience in a non-profit setting or equivalents.
