Job Description:

Grace Crossing Church is seeking a full-time preaching minister to begin work with this fast-growing congregation of over 300 members.

All final candidates must complete a psychological and personality assessment arranged by the church.

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications and abilities:

Education/Experience:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Bible or a related field such as Theological Studies.
-Minimum of 8 years ministry experience. At least some of this experience must have been as associate pastor or lead pastor.
-The ideal candidate will have been part of a progressive church that shares a similar vision with Grace Crossing Church.
-The candidate should be passionate about communicating this vision to the congregation and the city.
-Management of communications among multiple ministries to assure follow up and completion of commitments.
-The candidate must be married.

to completion.

GRACE CROSSING CHURCH SUMMARY

Demographics:
We are located in Collierville, TN, an eastern suburb of Memphis, TN. The city has a population of approximately 50,000 people. Collierville is a middle-to upper-income community with a large number of families (over 50% of population is under 18 years of age). Collierville is one of the fast growing cities in Tennessee and the town’s population is expected to double over the next 5-7 years. A number of large corporations have offices in the town or other nearby suburbs. Collierville has an excellent public school system with top statewide and national recognition in academics. Attendance at Grace Crossing has grown steadily in the past four years. There are currently about 320 to 350 persons in attendance at Sunday morning worship. Youth and children’s programs are a priority of the church.

Facilities:
The church occupies a 30,000 sq. ft. facility (built in 2005-2006). This is a multi-use facility, which will seat over 700 in the worship area with a full complement of classrooms, offices and other space. The shepherds of the church envision this facility to be a prime tool in outreach to the community and promote hosting a full range of secular and other activities. A second 5,000 square foot off-site facility is planned to open as a Teen Center in the fall of 2009.

Leadership/Staff:
The leadership consists of seven shepherds with a staff of a full-time youth minister, a full-time worship minister, a part-time children’s minister. Staff members report to the Shepherds and are partners with them, but authority ultimately lies with the Shepherds. Ministry leaders (both men and women) are empowered and expected to manage their ministry while the shepherds strive to spend their time involved in the lives of the flock.
