FBC is currently seeking a Lead Pastor to lead us into the future. Our church is committed to leading people in their discovery of Christ, develop in their walk with Christ, and then go out and impact the community for Christ. We are seeking a Lead Pastor with a passion to communicate God’s truth in engaging ways, leadership skills to engage our staff in leading us where God desires us to be, a willingness to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and a heart to reach our rural community and beyond for Christ.

Position Description Content
The Lead Pastor will be in charge of the welfare and oversight of the church and will work directly with the officers.
Lead the church in the day-to-day leadership, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the vision of FBC. Oversee stewardship of resources ensuring solid financial, human resources, and operational practices consistent with FBC’s mission, vision, and values. Work closely with the officers in providing proactive, anticipatory leadership.
-Collaborate with ministry teams – creating broad based ownership of new initiatives and continually affirming and encouraging staff members and volunteers to their contribution to ministry.
-Lead the implementation of all ministry initiatives through senior staff members – including training and equipping of staff and volunteers
-Continually evaluate and strengthen the staff foundation – monitoring ethos of staff and key volunteers, making recommendations and following through with corrective action when necessary
-Coach senior staff members and leaders individually – encouraging them personally and professionally to answer a ministry calling while maintaining healthy balance. Raise high the value of spiritual, relational, and missional growth (full life) in staff and volunteers
-Be proactive in understanding the culture in surrounding environment – applying ‘great’ techniques and representing FBC with excellence in the community (rural)
-Lead and evaluate financial spending to budget that is in line with the strategic plan. Support the existing ethos of integrity, stewardship, effectiveness, and efficiency.
-Beliefs consistent with Baptist distinctive
-Non-traditional, No KJV only
-Fulfillment of the Biblical qualifications of Elder/Pastor
-Married with children or plans to have children
-Passion for encouraging leaders in their area of ministry to fulfill the mission of FBC
-Preferred minimum three years experience in leading successful ministry in growing church environment and of proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate strong teams
-Excellent communication and listening skills
-Ability to recruit and empower volunteer leaders in ways promoting their spiritual growth
-Visionary leader; forward thinker; self-directed; teachable spirit
-Gifted in leadership, shepherding, and administration
-Understands and owns the vision and values of First Baptist Church (on website)
