Job Description:
Inside Out Youth Ministries is seeking two new staff members to join our youth ministry. This position is within a youth home housing males ages 12-18 who are getting their lives on track through Christ. One position is full time third shift (3 nights with 10 hour shifts); the second is part-time weekends.

We are accepting all resumes as we have a girls home as well and may have future openings. These include part- and full-time, as well as first, second and third shifts.

This is an excellent opportunity for those strong in the Lord, are at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma (college students and graduates preferred), and can pas a BCI/FBI criminal background check.

The following is the job description:


I. Function
Teaching Parents are responsible for the treatment of five to seven youth in the home.

II. Organizational Relationships

A. Teaching Parents are supervised by the Program Supervisor
B. Teaching Parents are responsible for the overall function of the home/program.
C. Teaching Parents cooperate and consult with teachers, clinical team members, referral and custodial agency representatives, parents, court personnel, and community stake holders.
D. Teaching Parents initiate and maintain productive and professional working relationships with their supervisor and all internal agency personnel, conducting themselves in a manner reflecting Christ’s character, respect and consideration for other employees.
E. Teaching Parents are expected to know and adhere to all agency policies and procedures which pertain to their job duties and positions. As the department and agency continues to improve itself, each Teaching Parent plays an important role in the growth and stability of the agency as a whole.

III. Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

A. Teaching Parents will provide a Christ centered therapeutic family-style treatment environment for the youth utilizing the Teaching Family Model of Standards and code of ethics. The Teaching Parents will be responsible for teaching sound social, academic, and independent living skills using a specific teaching interaction format (motivational point system) to reward or consequate youth target skills and general behaviors.
B. Teaching Parents will be instrumental in decision making regarding the youth’s placement, construction of treatment goals, identification of specific needs of the youth, and make recommendations to the treatment team (includes program Teaching Parents, biological parents, therapists, guardian, custodial representative, guardian ad litem, CASA, Probation Officer, teacher(s), and others approved to participate on the treatment team) for changes to the service plan.
C. Teaching Parents are responsible for maintaining and documenting regular communications with team members and service providers who are directly or indirectly involved with the care or treatment of the youth.
D. Teaching Parents are responsible for decisions and planning regarding household purchases, projects, and activities within the budget allocated to them. Teaching Parents are therefore responsible for the financial record keeping relevant to their home/program including but not limited to keeping all receipts of purchases, balancing the house checking account, and managing petty cash for incidental needs in a manner which can be validated.
E. Teaching Parents are responsible to report any need of repair to home or vehicles.
F. Teaching Parents are expected to work flexible schedules based upon the needs of the house/program, however, they will work as many hours as necessary in order to provide a stable environment for the youth, doing case work as necessary.
G. Teaching Parents are responsible to be appropriate Christ like role models for youth, adhering to local laws and agency values and morals. Teaching parents should be willing to follow all applicable rules set forth for the youth, including but not limited to appropriate standards of dress, manners and courtesies; obeying laws, respecting law enforcement and authority figures, constructively controlling anger, avoiding gossip, and being fair and impartial, to name a few.
H. Established or Teaching Parents with established tenure are looked upon as leaders and ‘On the Job’ Trainers, role modeling professionalism and agency expectations to new hires as well as youth in their care.
I. Overall, Teaching Parents are expected to exercise sound behavioral and professional judgment which brings honor to our Lord while insuring the wellbeing and respect of each youth in care while positively advancing the goals and reputation of the agency as a whole.

IV. Physical Qualifications
A. Able to successfully participate in physically restraining youth in keeping with the level of training standards.
B. Able to lift at least 40 pounds.
C. Able to drive a large passenger vehicle.
D. Able to physically enter all areas of a multi-level facility/home.

V. Other Qualifications

A. Able to work with behaviorally challenged youth
B. Able to maintain a Family-Style environment
C. Able to monitor and interact with multiple youth for extended periods of time
D. High School Diploma or equivalent
E. Minimum of 21 years of age
F. Valid Ohio Drivers License
G. Able to pass a criminal background check
H. Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen.
