Job Description:
First United Methodist Church in Fairfield Texas is searching for a full time youth UNITED METHODIST minister who will provide dynamic leadership and direction to the active middle school, high school, and families in our community. We are not looking for the “average” youth minister, but someone who can lead, reach, and develop. The Youth Minister will work closely with pastors, staff, adults, and youth leadership to make an impact on the church, schools, and community. The Youth Ministers primary goal is to continue and develop a ministry to youth and their families that shapes authentic followers of Christ in our community and beyond. Recruiting and training youth and adults for ministry is a crucial part of this church.

The Youth Minister for this church should have:
-A minimum of 2+ years of full time youth ministry experience.
-A working knowledge, understanding, and experience with the United Methodist Church.
-Bachelors degree and continuing youth ministry training.
-Experience in working with a student ministry of 30-75 active youth.
-Gifted and effective teacher and communicator.
-Multimedia experience.
-A love of teenagers, and exhibit leadership in all areas.

First United Methodist Church in Fairfield Texas is a medium size church with an active involvement in the community located near I-45. Fairfield is located just 80 miles south of Dallas and 150 miles north of Houston. First UMC is committed to youth ministry and the community. The church has recently built a new and exciting youth ministry facility that is welcoming and inviting.
