Job Description:
Lakeview Community Church, a loving and warm group of believers, is looking for an energetic and motivated Associate Pastor of Youth & Christian Education to enhance and continue the awesome Youth Ministry Program that God has blessed us with! We have a supportive congregation and a dedicated team of youth leaders! Youth Responsibilities:
1)Lead and/or coordinate the various youth activities in Bible or topical study designed to nurture faith, build faith community and foster and encourage relationships.
2)Lead and/or coordinate the Wednesday evening youth activities, which are focused on relationship building and involvement in missions and ministry.
3)Lead and/or coordinate/or other activities (examples: VBS, local missions, mission trips, camps, retreats, fellowships, summer camps, special events) that provide youth an environment in which to explore faith and to build faith community.
4)Provide leadership and training opportunities to the Youth Council and volunteer adult leaders of youth.
5)Participate, if available, in Christian Kid (CK) activities, on or off-site, in part or in whole.
6)Attend events and performances (i.e. sports, recitals, musicals, plays, etc) where Lakeview youth are involved, whenever possible.

Education Responsibilities:
1)Coordinate with the Board of Christian Education on educational opportunities and resources for Sunday School, midweek ministries, Bible study groups, Children’s Church and all other ministries of the Church, as needed.
a.Continually explore possibilities for new educational materials, topics and methods for all ages of the congregation
b.Develop elective classes, weekday Bible studies and covenant groups
2)Establish a variety of experiences that encourage faith formation for all age groups, which could include retreats, special seminars, small groups, etc.
3)Lead and/or coordinate with the Board of Christian Education the training of teachers.
4)Hold an active role in teaching Sunday School.

Ministerial Responsibilities:
1)Pastoral responsibilities, unless of an urgent nature, should be secondary to the Associate Pastor’s Youth & Christian Education responsibilities.
2)Participate at the request of the Senior Pastor and/or the Deacon Board in worship leadership, preaching, counseling, weddings, funerals, and visitation.
3)Engage in visitations where families with youth are involved, whenever possible.
4)Participate and/or attend all Church functions, whenever possible.
