KSC Ministries Job Description

The Pastor of Spiritual Formation exists to oversee the process of leading people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. (“…until Christ is formed in you” Galatians 4:19b.)

1. Supervise the following staff: Minister of Pastoral Care; Pastor of Student Ministries; Director of Children’s Ministries;
­• Assist in establishing annual objectives
­• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback and direction
­• Conduct annual performance reviews
­• Assist in hiring additional or replacement staff as needed
2. Lead Adult Education Programs (Sunday School; Discipleship; Community Groups; Wednesday night electives)
­• Oversee and assist in the selection and training of teachers/leaders
­• Develop new classes/groups
­• Oversee the selection and ordering of teaching materials and resources
3. Implement Vision
­• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to clarify church vision and goals
­• Support the vision by creating, maintaining, and evaluating systems and structures
4. Equip Men’s and Women’s Ministry
­• Support and resource committees directing these ministries
5. Preach as needed
6. Lead a small group (such as Discipleship or Community Group)
7. Teach an adult class (such as Sunday School or Wednesday evenings)
8. Moderate worship services and events in the absence of the Senior Pastor
9. Serve as an ex-officio member of the Adult Ministries Commission

• Thorough knowledge of the Scriptures
• Passion for healthy disciples
• Gifted in leadership/team building
• Gifted with strong organizational skills
• Growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Effective communicator
• Master’s degree from an accredited seminary
• At least 5 years pastoral experience in a church of 200 or more

This position will report to the Senior Pastor. Individual will be an ex-officio member of the Adult Ministries Commission, supported by an Elder appointed to that area.
