Job Description:
The Woodlands United Methodist Church / Communications & Media Department is seeking an energetic and creative video director/editor for the purpose of advancing the message of Jesus Christ in fresh and compelling ways in worship. We are seeking someone who embraces emerging culture and technology with passion and excitement. Candidate must bring the ability to identify, develop and implement creative and cutting-edge worship experiences based on Biblically sound themes and teachings. Candidate has an exceptional eye for detail.

Candidate possesses the ability to multi-task projects and meetings and to manage video project deadlines. Candidate recruits and schedules volunteers; makes sure all elements, equipment and production staff (volunteer and full-time) are in place for worship services; possesses the ability to direct volunteers and staff in a wide range of positions (cameras, switcher) for live productions; possesses quick decision making in time sensitive, live productions; possesses knowledge and respect of equipment used in video and live productions.

Candidate possesses ability to assess technical and logistical requirements of each project; possesses knowledge of storytelling through video editing; possesses knowledge of video project development and production.

Candidate brings experience with post production editing and mastering for professional reproduction, and for various online distribution channels such as YouTube,® and iTunes®. Candidate has experience with organizing, cataloguing, and maintaining electronic files, archives and disc media. Candidate has experience with organizing, cataloguing, and maintaining equipment inventories.

Strong consideration will be given to the candidate who brings the ability to think creatively and be an active contributor in worship planning sessions and production team meetings; who brings a willingness to collaborate on teaching series ideas and creative implementation of those ideas.

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years related experience is required. Excellent computer skills are a must - Mac platform only. Previous video production and live worship experience within a church setting preferred. Proficient in Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion/After Effects, ProPresenter & ProPlayer, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop.

This position reports directly to the acting Worship Arts Director. Full-time position; competitive salary and benefits offered. Work hours are 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Wednesday - Friday; Saturdays Noon - 8 p.m.; Sundays 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Some flexible or extended hours will be required during Christmas, Easter and other special events on campus.
