First Presbyterian Church of Winston-Salem is a PCUSA congregation established in 1862. We are evangelical, reformed, and committed to excellence in music and the arts. Our contemporary service meets Sundays at 11:00 a.m. in a beautiful, well-equipped worship center (dedicated April 2007); more liturgically oriented services with choir and organ meet at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary (rededicated March 2008).
The Associate for Worship and Music/Worship Leader is directly responsible for the music in the contemporary service, under the general direction of the Director of Music Ministries and in close collaboration with the message-givers and Technical Producer/Creative Arts Coordinator. For a detailed position description, please contact Nancy Porter, Administrative Asst for Worship & Music, at email@example.com. We are open to considering worship leaders who are also recording and/or concert artists.
To apply, please submit a resume with cover letter (addressed to Dr. Michael Dodds, Director of Music Ministries) describing your gifts and qualifications. Please submit all materials in .pdf format to firstname.lastname@example.org; please do not send audio or video attachments. CD and DVD recordings may be sent under separate cover, but unfortunately cannot be returned. Short-listed candidates may be asked later to provide CD and/or DVD recordings. Review of applications begins 7/22 and continues until the position is filled.
Over the years God has blessed FPC of Winston-Salem with wise leadership, a highly involved congregation, a dedicated and harmonious staff team, and wonderful facilities in a marvelous downtown location. We are excited to see what God will do as we follow His leading!
