Job Description:

West Evangelical Free Church is desiring God's person for our first full-time Pastor/Director of Worship. We desire to reach west Wichita (city of 400,000) by daughtering Bible-teaching, life-changing churches in this area. Qualifications:
A. Experience – Prefer 3 years minimum in the areas outlined below
B. Possess musical giftedness, passion for worship, and vibrant growing relationship with God
C. Possess leadership and people development skills
D. Understanding of audio/visual technology preferred
E. Vision and ability to move worship forward, both corporately and individually, and maintain relevance
F. Be in full agreement with the doctrinal statement of the Evangelical Free Church of America

General Responsibilities:
A. Oversee and provide necessary leadership to the areas of adult worship (both traditional and contemporary), drama and visual arts, including working with pastors, worship assistant, support staff, vocalists and instrumentalists, worship writers, sound/lighting tech teams, drama and visual arts volunteers.
B. Recruit, train and equip worship personnel both spiritually and musically.
C. Teach, model and oversee worship for the church body.
D. At the direction of the Senior Pastor, help coordinate special services and provide pastoral and leadership responsibilities.
E. Understand audio-visual technology to clearly communicate with the sound, lighting and multimedia technicians, creating a quality atmosphere for worship.
F. Future development of children’s and youth music programs as requested by children’s and youth directors.
G. Pursue continued growth and development through reading, conferences, etc.
H. Other duties as specified by the Senior Pastor.
I. Develop and multiply worship personnel for our current church and for future church plants.

Organizational Responsibilities

Must be a team player with other church staff members, committed to fulfilling the vision of the entire church. Will serve under the direction of the Senior Pastor and in cooper-ation with the Elder Board. Annual ministry plan will be reviewed by the Senior Pastor.
