The associate pastor will work in conjunction with the pastoral staff to provide
Spiritual oversight to the congregation at Stewartsville Baptist Church. This
person will promote spiritual growth through the church by developing
strategies and programs to enhance existing ministries and by establishing
new ministries that will enable Stewartsville Baptist Church to achieve its`


A. A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
B. Consistent spiritual and moral character that complies with the covenant
of Stewartsville Baptist Church, The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message, and the
Biblical qualifications described in 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:6-9.
C. Demonstrate a love for Jesus Christ and His church.
D. Strong interpersonal relationships.
E. Strong administrative and organizational skills.
F. Has never been divorced.
G. Masters of Divinity or equivalent degree preferred.

Ministry Responsibilities

A. Descipleship of the body according to the Great Commission.
B. Help With the creation of new Bible Study groups within the SS structure.
C. Begin planning small-group meetings within communities in Scotland and
Marlboro counties.
D. Plan and implement new Descipleship training classes as appropriate to the
need of the members.
E. Begin plans for future church plants.
F. Plan and implement new member/new Christian training classes. This would
Include a mentoring ministry.
G. Train members to minister in the areas of Biblical Counseling.
H. Provide oversight/organization of all missions programs/trips.
I. Other duties as the senior pastor may deem necessary.


A. Oversee all areas of administration.
B. The ordering of ministries and resources in the church for the fulfillment of
The Great Commission.
C. Oversee the office and janitorial staff and monitor the purchase of supplies & materials.
D. Serve as an effective liaison for committees, ministry teams and the outreach
Programs, and future expansion of facilities.


A. Maintain regular office hours.
B. Provide pastoral care and counseling as needed.
C. Preach when needed
D. Regular attendance at staff meetings.
