Job Description:
Ministry Objective:

To organize and lead the worship and music ministry for Life Fellowship Chapel, in consultation with the Senior Pastor, in a way that is consistent with our purpose, values, and theology.

Anticipated Time Commitments:

1. This is a part-time, paid staff position.
2. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 10 hours a week; more during special events.


General Competencies:

1 Must have trusted Jesus Christ as personal Savior.
2 Must be a stable and mature believer.
3 Must be setting an example of personal godliness to others, both at church and in home (1 Timothy 4:12).
4 Must have ability to organize, coordinate, and motivate musicians and technical team members.
5 Must be committed to Life Fellowship Chapel's vision, leadership, and people.
6 Must be dependable, consistent, self-motivated, creative, and organized.

Musical Competencies:

1 Must possess a passion for exalting God, exhorting others and influencing the lost through music.
2 Must have experience directing musical groups.
3 Must be able to demonstrate an “above average” understanding of technical aspects of music in general.
4 Must be able to appreciate and expertly “weave” various styles of music into a worship environment (i.e., hymns,
contemporary praise, gospel, southern gospel, etc.).
5 Piano/keyboard skills are preferred but not necessarily required.

Organizational Relationship:

The Director of Music and Worship is mutually accountable to the Senior Pastor and the Elder Board.


1 Must oversee the entire music ministry of Life Fellowship Chapel.
2 Must choose music for and direct several different musical groups/worship teams.
3 Must schedule and direct weekly and special rehearsals.
4 Must select music and direct special groups and solos.
5 Must recruit new members for the music ministry.
6 Must be able to creatively organize and lead congregational worship.
7 Must arrange for special music during regular and special services.
8 Must maintain musical instruments and arrange for tuning and upkeep.
9 Must schedule and supervise accompanists/and or worship team for all services.
10 Must plan and direct Christmas and Easter musicals.
11 Must coordinate and communicate with sound, lighting, and video technicians.
