Job Description:
Please visit for a position description and a description of the application process.

Good Shepherd is a congregation of people who value Jesus as Savior, the Bible as God's Word, and human relationships as a means of experiencing God's love in this world. It is a combination of Biblical excitement and small town friendship. We exist for the purpose of making disciples. We seek to make the influence of Jesus larger in people's lives by helping people to know Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord; helping people to grow in a lifelong relationship with God; and helping people to go share the Good News of God's Kingdom throughout the community and the world.

The purpose of this position is to strengthen the adult ministries of Good Shepherd UMC for the purpose of making disciples (to know, to grow, and to go) and to lead the worship arts for the purpose of deepening our passion for worship. This person will lead a newly formed Adult Discipleship Team to integrate existing small groups and adult Sunday School classes into a system of discipleship that will encounter people no matter their life stage or spiritual maturity and help them move deeper in their journey with Christ. This person will also provide leadership for worship arts. While this role will include direct supervision of an adult choir, opportunities will span the spectrum of artistic expression in both the blended worship service (8:30 am on Sundays) and the contemporary worship service (11:00 am on Sundays).

The Director of Discipleship and Worship Arts must have a contagious relationship with Jesus Christ, excellent verbal and written communication skills, practical leadership qualities, and a passion for discipling believers toward a deeper walk with Christ. We are seeking a self-motivated person who is a proponent of biblical-evangelical theology. A seminary degree or some undergrad theology education, and/or some ministry experience are desired.

If you discern that God may be leading you to Good Shepherd, we ask that you would prayerfully consider the resources at and we invite you to complete the application process by June 15, 2009.
