Job Description:
Waukegan Community Church (WCC) is a 19 year old church with approx. 450 individuals/families with an established music program and is seeking a BA/BS degree experienced music professional to undertake our Music Ministry. This position is currently open. This position may consider full time or contract. Overall job requirements include:

Direction of the Inspirational choir, Praise teams, Orchestra, Youth Choral, and special music for Sunday worship service, Seasonal worship, and Outreach programs. Accompaniment of the choirs on piano and organ Coordination or direction of various music groups. Maintenance of a music budget, music library and Soundboard knowledge & experience
Interaction with all musicians/vocalists in a positive, instructive and encouraging manner. Consultation with pastor, staff and worship team in planning the music for all worship services as part of a worship planning team. Possession of strong biblical Christian faith and familiarity with the Baptist General Conference doctrines. These are subject to change according to need and in conjunction with other staff.
Schedule, plan and coordinate all worship services.
Serve on appropriate boards and committees as needed.
Submit a monthly or quarterly report to the Director of Ministries & Senior Pastor.
Secure special music and musicians for services and special programs.
Develop and lead worship teams, both vocal and instrumental. This would include soloists and other vocal teams.
Development of musicians and expand the variety of instrumentalists.
Assist in directing the Inspirational Choir.
Development of age or grade related ensembles as requested.
Oversee the scheduling of special music events, concerts and promotions.
Oversee the development of music programs and choirs for teens and children.
Management and maintenance of church owned music equipment and instruments.
Development and directing of instrumentalists.
Directing and coordinating the drama ministries.
Oversee and direct major church drama presentations.
