Hill Country Bible Church NW in Austin, TX is seeking to fill the vacant position of Worship Music Director. HCBC NW is a spiritually vibrant church committed to the vision of reaching every man, woman and child in Greater Austin with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ. HCBC NW has planted 15 churches with more church plant residents gearing up to plant new churches over the next few months. This open position (Music Director) is for the main campus church which runs 4,000-5,000.
The Music Director position requires a creative leader who is able to lead authentic, passionate worship and can empower others to do the same. They need to be well versed in a variety of contemporary musical styles with strength in modern worship. This person will lead the musicians (vocals and band) that serve in our worship center and casual venue as well as any future venues.
They are responsible for recruiting and empowering volunteers, effectively using the Planning Center On-line tool, communicating song forms and other needed info to all the musical teams and support ministries, developing special worship elements (specials, testimonies, prayer, creative arts, etc.), as well as leading (or providing volunteer leadership) for all the necessary rehearsals. They will also serve as a spiritual and relational leader within the worship ministry - helping their teams grow in their areas of skill and service, as well as in taking their next spiritual step.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience leading worship and developing volunteers in a relevant context (with preference given to those who have large-church experience). They will be a skilled musician as well as a creative and organized leader (with a proven track record of working well with people in a highly accountable environment). They need to be passionate about the gospel, the local church and inspiring others as they participate in meaningful ministry.
