Job Description:
The Director of Elementary and Rockrimmon (RR) Children’s Ministries has ministry building and supervisory responsibilities. He/she provides direction, training and support for Children’s Ministries, and is responsible for short and long range planning in line with WVC’s vision. The Director of Elementary and RR Children’s Ministries oversees all areas of Children’s Ministries on the RR Campus and Elementary Ministries on both campuses. The Director of Elementary and RR Children’s Ministries co-leads and works in conjunction with the Director of Early Childhood and WH Children’s Ministries in overseeing the WVC Children’s Programs. This full-time position reports to an Executive Pastor.

A. Co-leads the WVC Children’s Ministries with the Director of Early Childhood and WH Children’s Ministries
B.v Coaches, encourages, supervises and develops the members and ministries of Children’s Ministries; facilitates coordination, communication, accountability and evaluation of staff within Children’s Ministries
C. Has full knowledge of Children’s Ministries in order to serve leaders, Ministry Partners and parents; maintains consistency within Elementary Children’s Ministries at both the RR WH campuses, while overseeing the RR Campus Birth through 5th grades
D. Co-oversight of the development and implementation of policies and procedures and all trainings for Children’s Ministries
E. Co-oversight of the calendar, budget and purchases of Children’s Ministries
F. Co-oversight of the Communications and Creative Programming Coordinator, the AWANA Coordinator and Administrative Assistant
G. Co-leads weekly Children’s Ministries staff meeting and monthly team meetings
H. Supervises and schedules weekend programs, in conjunction with the Coordinators and Division Leaders
I. Rotates during weekend services to ensure quality and performance of staff/Ministry Partners at each service time (discipline and teaching standards) for Children’s Ministries, serving 3 weekends/month at RR; 1 at WH
J. Interviews, hires, dismisses and evaluates Children’s Ministries staff for Elementary Nursery payroll Coordinators and Division Leaders
K. Keeps up-to-date on curriculum and Children’s Ministries procedures through research and networking
L. Oversees, trains and schedules elementary GOOYWATS and Techs for the RR campus
M. Develops a ministry to 4th and 5th graders, coordinating for both campuses
N. Oversees organization and coordination of weekly curriculum planning for Elementary Children’s Ministries, and monthly/quarterly events including Christianity 101, Divorce Care 4 Kids, Take-It-Home Events; is familiar with the Early Childhood Curriculum in order to facilitate it at the RR campus
O. Maintains specified weekly office hours

A. Education/Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree; a degree from a seminary or Bible college is desired
2. 3-5 years paid experience working in Children's Ministries ina church setting
3. Experience in supervising and managing leaders
4. Experience in education and curriculum development
5. Experience working with children, and the ability to positively interact with staff, children, parents, and Ministry Partners.
6. Excellent administrative skills
7. Desire to work with children and see that they receive every opportunity to have a solid foundation and receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior when they reach the age of accountability
8. Computer skills with proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and the Internet
9. Works well with pastoral teams to integrate ministry to children with other church ministries
10. Has ability to recruit, motivate and support individuals in ministry and group activities
11. Is self-motivated and visionary
12. Manages time well
13. Good written and verbal communication skills
14. Demonstrates an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ through regular prayer, Bible study and worship attendance
15. A member of WVC who supports its vision and values, as well as contributes time and tithes

B. Physical Requirements
1. Ability to retrieve and transport 35 lbs
2. Reliable transportation
