St. John’s Lutheran Church, an ELCA church located in the heart of the Lake Minnetonka area of Mound, Minnesota, has been a significant presence in the community since 1927. Having just completed a strategic planning process, St. John’s stands ready for new leadership to help implement this vision and plan with regard to youth and family ministries.
The position of director of youth ministries represents a desire to continue the reorientation and reenergizing of the congregation and its youth ministries. Openness exists within the church for new and imaginative forms of ministry and a willingness to step up and be involved presents an opportunity to move the congregation to new heights as believers.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
In this position, you will play a critical role in realizing the vision of St. John’s by overseeing all ministries involving youth at St. John’s and the community. This includes supervision of Director of Children’s Ministries, Sunday school, Nursery Coordinator and Children’s Choir.
Hours: Full-time with frequent Saturday and Sunday responsibilities

Salary Commensurate with Experience: Range $35,000 - $45,000
Partner with the congregation to increase our members’ participation, deepen their passion and commitment related to:
1. Christian Education
3. Youth and Family ministries
Lead, plan, train, direct, and inspire by building teams and/or groups to support these ministries.
- 2 or more years of leadership experience in the area of church youth ministry
- Organizational and administrative ability
- Knowledge of youth development and current youth culture
- A call to work with young people and a desire to see them grow into maturity in their relationship with Christ
- A desire to reach non-Christian and unchurched young people
- Ability to work well with others, especially in team situations
