Children’s Ministry Director
New Life Community Church

I. PURPOSE: To offer catalytic leadership that creates multiple environments that energize children and generate movement toward spiritual development.

Three primary areas of ministry focus:
• Pre-school
• Elementary
• 5th & 6th Grades (Max)



• Cast vision and give direction to children’s areas that reflect the greater church’s vision.
• Identify and develop enthusiastic leaders to coordinate various services.
• Equip and resource parents in partnership with church.
• Supervise preparation of ministry budgets in areas of responsibility.


• Develop a team that serves the expansion and growth of our children’s ministries.
• Ensure depth in coverage for all programs and classrooms.
• Work with broader staff team and support all-church programs and activities.


• Create an environment where children thrive and invite their friends.
• Develop children’s services that reflect cutting edge ministry and enthusiasm among children.
• Develop programs that attract children from our community.
• Create learning environments for spiritual growth.
• Build on existing safeguards to ensure safety for children under our care.


• Works in a team relationship with the New Life Staff.
• Leads Children’s Ministry Staff.
• Leads volunteer catalysts.
• The Team Leader is the Executive Pastor.


This position requires a high energy leader who is a self-starter and initiator of ministry. The ideal leader for this ministry is one who wants to take an existing ministry to new levels. We are looking for a person with experience in a larger church. This person will need to work with a variety of personality types that creates synergy in a team environment. This person will also need to have a clear understanding of “Best Practice” children’s ministry approaches and be especially gifted in recruiting volunteers. This person needs strong organizational skills, a positive personality and empowering leadership that serves as a catalyst to growth.
