Job Description:
Purpose: Manage and perform duties related to making disciples of churched and unchurched children and youth grades 6 through 12.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.

Overview: The purpose of Mount Hope United Methodist Church is to know the love of Jesus and share His love by making and sending forth disciples in His name. One significant part of this ministry is our youth. We have a need for an individual who has a solid faith in Jesus Christ and a strong desire to work with youth of all ages. This position is part-time, up to 20 hours per week.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
•To plan and lead a weekly fellowship for junior and senior high students. Must be available Sunday evenings.
•To plan and coordinate summer Afterglow, held on Sunday evenings during the months of July and August.
•Organize and coordinate youth activities and programs as follows (but not limited to): Youth Sunday, summer events, Junior and Senior High retreats, both separate and combined; September Fall Kick-off; Winter Madness; Mission trip; outreach projects and programs; special events and fun activities.
•Assist in planning Christian education and family ministries.
•Report to the Senior Pastor, Staff-Parish Relations Committee, and the Administrative Board.
•Coordinate and attend monthly youth leader meetings, and the monthly Administrative Board meeting.
•Participate in Sunday morning worship.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry (preferred) or experience in youth ministry or related field.
Experience: Two to five years of youth ministry experience in a medium to large church.
Excellent relational skills with youth and parents. The ability to be a team player who is a self-starter and able to perform multiple tasks.
Other: Agree with the philosophy and doctrinal statements of the United Methodist Church. Work within policies and procedures of the church.
