Job Description:
LaGrange Bible Church
Youth Pastor of Senior High Ministry

Out of a desire to give glory to God in all aspects of life, the Senior High Youth Ministry of LaGrange Bible Church strives to make disciples of Jesus Christ out of its love for God and others. It is our prayer and hope that the Holy Spirit will bless this endeavor to develop Christ-likeness in every part of the person’s life.

As a devoted servant of the Lord, the Youth Pastor of the LaGrange Bible Church will assist the Senior Pastor and the Board of Elders in the overall ministry of the church, emphasizing oversight of the Senior High Ministry, while working alongside other adult leaders.

The Youth Pastor is directly responsible to the Senior Pastor and will maintain a weekly schedule of approximately 45 hours with a full day off. He will keep regular office hours for ministry, which will include some evenings. Concomitantly, the Youth Pastor’s wife will play an important role in caring for the youth ministry.

1. To reach teens with the Christian Story.
2. To nurture the youth group into a loving community that enriches the greater body of Christ.
3. To cultivate within our youth an effective Christian mindset that is relevant to the world around them.
4. To help our youth unselfishly serve others as they worship the Lord with an unrivaled passion.

General practices of the Senior High Youth Ministry will include fostering personal discipleship with teens and leaders, facilitating community learning and fellowship through Sunday School, conducting Sunday night youth gatherings, participating in small groups, and partaking in a couple of monthly Friday or Saturday activities.

Some expected special ministry events include: organizing short-term mission trips stateside or abroad, planning summer canoe trips or backpacking excursions, participating in service projects, attending worship experiences and weekends of discipline, presenting our “Annual Christmas Tea”, and attending “Wintertainment” an annual youth retreat held at Camp Forest Springs, Wisconsin, during the Christmas holiday.

Philosophical/theological views, a weekly practice of ministry, and other specifics will be discussed further during the interview with the Senior Pastor.
