Job Description:

Serve with Ginghamsburg’s Student Ministry team as the middle school ministry specialist as you partner with adult servant teams to connect middle school students into spiritual growth, mission, cell group and servanthood opportunities at Ginghamsburg Church. Important skills necessary to accomplish this mission include strong teaching/speaking ability, event design creativity, strong relational skills within today’s youth culture, enthusiasm for mentoring young teens and demonstrated leadership.

Education & Experience:
--Bachelors degree in related field and/or paid staff experience in megachurch setting
--Expertise in middle school ministry
--Track record of successful recruitment/equipping/training of adult and student unpaid servants (volunteers)

--Excellent team-based leadership abilities
--Exceptional communication and organizational skills
--High degree of creativity for designing student events
--Understanding of student/teen lifestyle issues and cultural trends
--Great relational skills with students and adults of all backgrounds and situations
--Ability to work in and contribute to an overall staff team “strengths-based” environment

Overall Expectations:
--Participation and teamwork with overall Ginghamsburg student ministry staff team in visioning, developing, and implementing educational and spiritual growth opportunities for all students
--Regional and national networking for continued information, ideas, and strategic impact in student ministries --Development of a personal plan for continued growth/expertise in target ministry areas of responsibility
--Ability to create original middle school ministry curriculum or resources, or to team and contribute with other staff on original projects

--Take ownership and provide leadership for regular outreach “magnet events” for middle school students (and accompanying recruitment/training, deployment of adult servants), including Friday night UltraLive, retreats, trips, etc.
--Develop and provide leadership for a strong middle school discipleship initiative, including cell groups, classes, youth gatherings and other educational/spiritual growth activities (plus recruitment, training, and deployment of adult servants)
--Provide a regular “community” event for middle school students to learn, have fun, grow spiritually, make friends, and build Christian community
--Create a discipleship track specifically to train and deploy middle school students for leadership roles
--Establish a strong year-round mission trip program for middle school students as well as other serving opportunities
--Utilize media on behalf of student ministry to disciple students, create servant roles, and serve the needs of student ministry activities, events, and classes
